CrossDay25

At the first CrossDay25 on the 15th of September 2025 in Mainz, we'll bring people and companies with cross-perspectives together. The focus will be on examples and experiences from various leading industries, as well as biotech/life sciences and the creative industries. You will receive inspiring cross-industry insights from start-ups, SMEs, and large companies to industry, research, and design. Best practice live! The event is organized by the Life Science Zentrum Mainz and the Innovationsagentur Rheinland-Pfalz.

Why Cross Innovation?

Change, complexity, and speed characterize our innovation environment. Individual players or areas are increasingly reaching their limits. Today, solutions are primarily developed in teams — across disciplines, industries, and company boundaries.

Cross innovation describes an open, collaborative approach:
Innovations arise where perspectives intersect. The exchange between different industries and departments creates new impetus, accelerates developments, and opens up unexpected solutions.

What can we expect?

  • We bring together innovators with an open mindset.
  • Unfiltered insight into several best practice projects from the current book: Cross Innovation – Future Skill in the 21st Century, as well as examples from cooperation with the creative industry.
  • Cross-impulses from start-ups to SMEs and large companies to industry are presented and discussed.
  • A change of perspective and learning from each other are the success factors for cross innovation.
  • In the open space, everyone actively works together on cross-themes and cross-parameters of the future.

We will learn from practical examples such as “Cross Innovation and Open Innovation Ecosystems,” “Experiences with the Open Innovation Platform opnMe,” “From Cross Innovation to Business Model,” “Interdisciplinary Cooperation and Innovation Cycles,” “How an SME Drives New Thinking,” “Experience Reports from Start-up Collaborations,” and much more.

Take advantage of CrossDay25 to find ideas, perspectives, inspiration, and partners for your next steps!
