Biotechnology in Mainz & Rhineland-Palatinate: innovation, networking and dynamics at the German Biotechnology Days 2025 in Heidelberg

Mainz and Rhineland-Palatinate are among the leading regions for biotechnology in Germany and Europe. We once again presented the dynamic development and innovative research and industrial landscape at the German Biotechnology Days 2025. Our joint exhibition stand was once again a central meeting point for industry visitors, companies, start-ups, scientists and political players in the field of biotechnology and life sciences.

The video shows the highlights of our dedicated team at the DBT2025 and provides an insight into the lively exchange on site.

One of these was definitely the panel discussion moderated by our team member Jan Uphoff with experts such as Andreas Schneider (IBWF Mainz) and Janis Stiefel (Fraunhofer IMM Mainz). At the very well-attended coffeeon, they shared their views on the innovation potential, support services and the location of Mainz and Rhineland-Palatinate for young scientists and start-ups in the field of biotechnology.

The Biotechnology Days offer a unique platform for young companies in the biotech and life science industry to present their innovative ideas. The pitch by Rüdiger Trojok, Managing Director of MEDEA Biopharma, in the “New Kids on the Block” session and the presentation by Andrea Tüttenberg, CEO and co-founder of Actitrexx, were particularly inspiring. The two successful start-ups from Rhineland-Palatinate demonstrated the region's growth and innovation potential in the biotech start-up ecosystem.

In addition, Biomindz initiated this year's BioRegions Innovation Award together with Technologieland Hessen. We congratulate the winners who have impressively demonstrated how innovative Germany is in the field of biotechnology.
