Mike Peter Schweitzer is the marketing manager for the biotechnology hub of Mainz. He started out his career as an officer in the German armed forces, where he studied political economics and social sciences and worked in PR and media relations for seven years. 

After he left the German armed forces in 2007, he worked as a press officer at Deutsche Bank AG in Frankfurt, Germany. Starting in 2011, the native of Mainz headed up the press office and social media communications at the Frankfurt Airport operator Fraport AG for more than five years. Before moving to Mainz, he was responsible for corporate communications and group marketing at Helaba, Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen. 
 

The successful life science and biotechnology hub has earned its first-class international position. As someone who comes from Mainz, helping to shape the future of this region for the benefit of us all is a matter very close to my heart.
